At the AGM in July, there were no nominations for Committee Members received.
Consequently, I adjourned the meeting and called a Special General Meeting for Thursday 10 August 2017 at 6.30pm in the downstairs function room (restaurant) at The Bridge Hotel. I have attached the agenda for the Special General Meeting and the minutes from the AGM.
At this meeting, members will have the opportunity to nominate to be Committee Members. If no nominations are received, the resolution to un-incorporate Bendigo Connect & Newcomers Group will be considered.
The intention of everyone who attended the AGM is the Bendigo Connect & Newcomers group will continue to exist less formally and continue to hold events as it has done for many years.
Please note – in order to vote at the Special General Meeting, you must be a financial member for the 2017-2018 membership year – a membership form is attached – you can pay your membership on the night.

I also have some sad news to share. A little while ago we learnt that one of our members, and a past President & Committee Member, Rob Plowman died suddenly. On behalf of the Committee, I have sent a note of condolence to his family.

Only financial members are eligible to vote at the Annual General Meeting. To vote at the AGM on 20 September 2016, either in person or by proxy, please ensure that you are a current financial member.

The elected Committee is responsible for the management of Bendigo Newcomers Inc.
Eligibility for Election
To be eligible for election, the nominee shall be a financial member of Bendigo Newcomers Inc.
The Committee of Management of Bendigo Newcomers Inc shall consist of the Executive Officers being a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer, along with ordinary members, (if any), elected under rule 53 of the Association’s rules.
