Issue 49: December 2016/March 2017

The Committee is also moving towards sending email reminders for each event to those who have email addresses, and text reminders for those without an email address. These reminder messages will be sent a few days before the RSVP date, to remind members about what’s happening. In the next few weeks, a survey will be distributed to members to identify what types of events would be most popular to ensure that we are meeting the needs of the membership.

Issue 48: August/November 2016

Please note – on the membership form you are now asked if you would like to receive the Welcome Mat by email or continue to receive it by post. The Committee has decided to offer this option as a result of member feedback and to see if it is possible to reduce our printing costs in line with our reduced City of Greater Bendigo funding.

Issue 47: April/July 2016

The distribution of the next Welcome Mat will include the notice for the next AGM. On behalf of the Committee, I would like to encourage members to consider joining the Committee for 2016-2017. The Committee meets monthly for about an hour and organises the events, including hosting of events. As a Committee Members, you have the opportunity to meet other members at events you’ve organised or suggested.

Issue 46: December/March 2016

The Committee hope that the next four months of activities have something to offer every member and look forward to seeing you at one of the activities. I’d also encourage you to review the Feedback Mat as there are lots of events happening in and around Bendigo over summer. I hope to see you all at the Christmas lunch on Sunday, 6 December.

Issue 45: August/November 2015

I would like to encourage everyone to attend the AGM on Tuesday 11 August at 6.30pm. Over the last year, we have seen a doubling in the membership numbers for the Bendigo Newcomers with a corresponding increase in attendance at most events. There will be vacancies on the Committee as some of the current Committee have indicated that they will step down at the AGM.

Issue 44: April/July 2015

Over the last few months, Bendigo Newcomers’ members have participated in a wide range of events. The week-day lunch at the Woodhouse Restaurant was well attended with very yummy, and very large pizzas enjoyed by all.

Issue 43: December/March 2015

Over the last couple of months, it has been wonderful to see so many members attending the various activities and functions.

Issue 42: September/November 2014

The 10th anniversary dinner on August 2nd was a huge success with approximately 65 current and past members attending and as a result we have about 20 extra renewals and new memberships.
